Forge House

Residential

Proposals for a Kentish country house. Expanding a series of buildings including traditional ragstone smithy into a new homestead with a contemporary oast-style structure.

The oast boasts a feature double height space entrance, containing a feature converted Vampire Jet Engine chandalier, leading to main living space with locally inspired materials. Timber clad workshops nestle around the original form of the historic forge. The form of the building follows the site shape while allowing a car access route through the workshop. It also allows for future swimming pool to be added to the garden area with views across the landscape.
